Here's a print and paint of the full print of Parasite Collectibles' 'Aerithrian Wind Defender on Emberfinches' sculpt. You can find the STLs over in their store on MyMiniFactory.
I'm a subscriber of Parasite Collectable's things over on MyMiniFactory, and I really wanted a nice big print to try out my new Saturn 4 Ultra. This looked awesome so fit the bill perfectly.
A few hours of it rising out the goop and it was ready to go.
I'm not sure if it's meant to be a specific colour, but here's my take on it. I wanted something bright and colourful, and figured I should refresh myself with my airbrush. I frickin' this print and it was such a blast to paint.
Technique wise it was a quick primer/zenithal with the rattlecans (black, grey, white). I spent some time with the airbrush to block everything out before working on the gradient between the red and blue. I followed up with a generous wash, drybrushing and finally painting in all the details of the armour. Lastly I went over it to gave it some extra highlights to pop.
I'm really happy with how it came out. I want to go back and fill in some more details here and there (mainly the things hanging around it's neck), but it's pretty much done now.
Here's a few articles I recommend if you're looking for things similar to this one.
I'm Blake and I like to tinker with things and make stuff. When I'm not programming or developing random systems, I'm playing with electronics, doodling bits of art, 3D modelling or sculpting and painting things or nerding out watching sci-fi or horror TV.
From 2001 I worked in the games industry, eventually specialising in tools to aid in the development of video games and their engines. In 2011 I left the industry and teamed up with a few other talented composers to utilise my knowledge to help build the company 'Spitfire Audio'.
I also periodically compose soundtracks for video-games and have worked on titles such as The Stanley Parable and Portal Knights. You've probably also heard my music in random TV commercials at some point.
I use various bits and bobs to craft my shiz.
